Right after the first yoga class that Maya took some 15 years ago, she knew that yoga would be her path for the years to come. Experience of deeper connection with her true self was her motivation to practice every day. Ever since yoga has been providing her with support and transformation. Yoga also helped her after she injured her back 8 years ago. She gradually returned to her yoga practice and after some time the back pain was gone. She really believes that yoga can help everybody in emotional, spiritual and physical way as long as one listens to one’s body and heart. She decided that the time has come for her to make transformation in her practice in order to start sharing her passion with others. In March 2017 Maya received 100 h of teacher training with Pedro Franco of Premananda Yoga School from Brazil, which she will continue in April 2018. She has been practicing different styles of yoga including Hatha and Viynasa Yoga. For the last 6 months she has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga, first with Masha Nedeva, authorized level 2 teacher from Russia and now with Aida Ahmagić. She is also a regular student of Kundalini Yoga with Sanda Mešinović from Banja Luka. She has been teaching Hatha, Vinyasa and Prenatal Yoga. She likes to incorporate pranayama and meditation in her classes in order to provide a true experience of Yoga, beyond physical aspect.
Maya is a university professor with PhD in experimental physics. She is married and mother of one son.
